Conquer Your Anxiety
The way to conquer your fears is to work through your anxiety episodes.
If sitting in traffic brings on anxiety, then while you are sitting in your car, do your breathing, telling yourself that these feelings can't hurt you, and I will bet that your anxiety will pass.
Hit your fears head on!

The next thing you can do to relieve your anxiety is to tell yourself that the feelings you are having are not going to hurt you.
Say to yourself over and over "that they are just feelings and they can't hurt you".
You have to think positive thoughts through out the day.
Without realizing it, we all spend at least 75% of our day thinking negative thoughts.
Don't let all the "what ifs" rule your life.
Take control of your thoughts.

Once you rule out any serious medical conditions, and your doctors diagnose you with anxiety, there a few techniques to try to help you work through your anxiety episodes.
First try and relax, take a deep breath in through your nose for 5 seconds and let it out slowly through your mouth for 10 seconds.
Repeat this for 1 minute.
You can do this throughout the day when you are feeling anxious and also get in the habit of doing it even when you are feeling ok.

An important part of quitting is to have support.
Anyone from friends, family, co-workers, doctors, nurses and psychologists, can all be considered a support group.
They are there to talk to, lean on when you need an encouraging word and your doctor can help you with medications if you need them.
You shouldn't go it alone!

With the economy not doing well, and many people having lost their jobs, stress is a given.
People will usually go back to smoking during trying times like these because they think they need the cigarettes to help them relieve stress, however, this isn't so.
That cigarette is pouring unwanted chemicals into your body that you worked so hard to get rid of, and when you take that last puff of the cigarette that you thought would relieve your stress, the original problems and stress that drove you to light up are still there, and now you have to go back and quit all over again just adding another problem and stress related issue to the problems and stress that you already had.
Don't undue all the good you worked so hard for.

The first 4 months after that last cigarette can be challenging.
Your desire to light up is still there, but now you should feel energized, healthy, and proud that you made it this far.
Don't give up, because your efforts are not wasted.
I just started my fifth month and I can safely say that I do not look for them anymore.
It is smooth sailing from this point on.
Just keep up that healthy routine and you will reap the rewards.

After about 13 to 15 weeks of following an exercise program and new healthy diet, you should be at your goal weight.
Now you can work on how you will stop smoking.
For a week eliminate a cigarette a day from your usual smoking routine.
If you smoke 15 cigarettes on your first day, then on your next day you will only smoke 14, and so on until you are among the many non smokers of the world.
It isn’t as hard as it seems, and each day gets easier.
Just make sure that you continue to keep up your exercising and your good eating habits.
